Synopsis
A series that speaks for a generation who grew up in an uninhibited era of human development. The beings brought up on fertile lands, where the seeds of desire were sewn... as they reached puberty a digital crop began to sprout! This harvest saw the rise of Blackberry's, LG Chocolates and many other enticing treats. All of which left an overwhelmingly sweet taste of what possibilities may lie ahead. They quickly became vital parts of their hard drive, these added components with their limited functions, only ever felt like software's. They came equipped with tools to aid social development, as new media networks facilitated the coming together of like minded individuals. Stronger bonds were now being formed, as organised gatherings took place more than ever. Recreational activities of all kinds were constantly being sought out. Over time these teens turned into young adults, many of whom grew tired of their local service providers. They ventured out to universities across the country, in hopes of broadening their band of brothers and sisters. Excellent connections could be established in Leeds, West Yorkshire where our story is set. A place which attracts customers of a unique nature, those looking for an EE, or a double drop... in other words, experienced consumers ready for their next upgrade.
We meet our cast as they embark on their final year of university... there’s nothing fresh about this meat! These third year students are cured of their apprehension, and ready to distribute a service of their own... a electronic music night named After Hours; a project bankrolled through a successful bitcoin investment made by Josh - A student burdened by his own ego, an overthinker weak in nature who is desperate to make a name for himself. The events are curated by the talented DJ Matt - A charismatic moron, and organised by a vile mouth piece named Louis - A loveable asshole.
The intricate patterns of their social web are depicted through a seeker this tale depicts, one who witnessed the ascent of Social Hours - A real venture birthed in a third year that saw the coming together of a special network of individuals. The raw silk left throughout this process has been gathered, incredible stories and people met along this journey are interlaced into this fine weave. Our three main protagonists have been created with archetypal characteristics in mind, they are fictional beings with a social hub comprised of real, larger than life personalities.
Characters
Benji - Affectionately known as the big fucking geezer. The Chesire born stoner brings so much joy and laughter with his carefree, ditzy demeaner. He is also an aspiring DJ who is trying to gain an After Hours residency.
India - A deeply spiritual individual with a unique fashion sense. She shows great confidence through her strong, feminist attitude. India thrives when in Benji's company, as the pair are always eager to reek havoc. They have the stamina to carry on partying for days.
Sasha - A scouse lad with energy in abundance, a big presence with an accent so strong that it leaves many in awe and wonder of what it is he’s actually saying! Sasha and India live with Matt, feisty vegan Holly and a distant member of the group Amy.
Billy - Barnsley’s very own Che Guevara! He’s a man with a revolutionaries mindset. A talented artist who constructed the After Hours logo, as well as designing all their posters. Never part of the Social Hours collective, and reluctant to join the After Hours team... he holds a hatred for techno, a genre often played at many of the crews gatherings. This occasionally leaves him out of the groups periphery. Whenever he does comes into view the scene is often set by his hilarious lefty disposition. Billy shares a home with Louis, Benji, and the lively Geordie Dom. Whilst Josh lives on his own in a studio apartment, due to his OCD.
Epilogue
As the fabric of our society looms over, this tapestry unapologetically drapes across much of the shade that's been thrown over the years, allowing space for light and laughter to shine through the cracks left by crooked minds, who continuously wage wars on our people and planet. It can be easily identified amongst other similar designs, with a distinct roughness around the edges, and a sharpness of tone which cuts through the wool that's been pulled over our eyes... using shear wit! Our provocative panel seamlessly judge their own ludicrous actions, whilst challenging common perceptions of right and wrong in the process. It is sure to lockdown its place in comedy folk law. The state of which is sorry, as no action has been taken on the artificial affair... without our consent the harvest had our pants down! It whipped out its cordless equipment and impregnated our mother with a polluted produce! The seedy prick has created utter discord.
The cream of these crops make content easy to find, yet hard to feel... When we’re sat alighted upon our screens, they cell towers of tailored dopamine hits. The slots simulated in a scroll at the top of our feeds, sees dis-ease radiate from the collective... who must think presence is a shit gift! As communions are commonly unconscious. We could see the collective swiftly shift their awareness back towards paths led through community and exploration, if the seeds After Hours holds are planted.
A production company with a biodiverse habitat is needed for the seeds to bare fruit, along with a symbiotic relationship with a producer... one who could facilitate the dissipation of the sense of "me" in our my-corrhizal networks. The love and truths shared in this series would offer banquets of food for thought, providing vital nourishment to our society, through a group who have got the minerals to serve this seriously silly message.
Could you help birth a project that has the potential to positively shift our collectives consciousness? Or know anybody who could? Then have a butchers at the first episode! There’s four more to read at your request.
Let's hope that this message does not fall on death ears and square eyes... our future seekers attention spans have dwindled, as they are being left to their own devices. I pray that they one day see our crew in action, so that they are given the inspiration needed for them to begin their own quests, past the hours before. As they long for the hours after, may they find the bliss that comes from being with the hourless moments in-between.
