Creating community connection through play

A movement space built around connection, exploration and shared learning. The name plays on yoga, from the Sanskrit root yuj, meaning to unite — and that's the intention: to bring people together through movement.

Sessions move between grounded flow, balance, strength, mobility and breath — drawing on many traditions without belonging to any single one. Among them: myofascial training, yoga, calisthenics, animal flow, rope flow, flow arts, slacklining, mobility work, breathwork and foundation training

Guiding you to your own way

Everyone in the space is honoured in their capacity to be a student as well as a teacher. My role is to guide the experience and open up room for expression, through offering an intuitive, childlike way of asking what's possible within each individual's capacity and ability to move.

I'm able to guide people of all ages and abilities. Yogus classes are currently held in Folkestone, with hopes of bringing the practice to schools, festivals and communities across the UK.

The vision

Yogus is a practice, but the intention is bigger than one person running sessions. The dream is to train and guide movers across the UK, so the practice can be carried into communities we'd never reach otherwise.

Each guide would build something of their own — their own space, their own community, their own slice of it. A living made from a practice they hold themselves.

The obstacle is equipment. Crash mats, flow ropes, slacklines, flow toys and resistance bands are the difference between an idea and a real session, and they're beyond most people starting out. So the plan is to fund it: we're seeking funding to buy the equipment upfront, guides pay it off gradually through the 20% share, and once it's covered the equipment is theirs to keep outright.

After that, the 20% stops paying for kit and starts building community spaces — places to make things, move, grow food and heal.

That's the long game. We're at the beginning of it, and we'd love to hear from anyone who wants to move with us.
